After high school, Josh enlisted in the Air Force and served in various roles of Aircrew Life Support and C-130 Loadmaster. He answered the call to ministry while on a deployment. He separated and enrolled in classes at Texas Baptist Institute-Seminary in Henderson and Baptist Missionary Association and Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, TX for his Bachelors. He furthered his education by earning his Master of Divinity through Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Josh has served in a number of ministry positions from children's all the way through to senior adult ministries. Josh currently serves as pastor of University since January 2021. He married Kathrine in 2004; they have four children.
Alongside serving as pastor of University Baptist, Josh is employed full-time as a staff chaplain at Christus Trinity Mother Frances hospital since 2022.
